MANAGING COMPANY TACTICAL OPERATIONS SERIES
PREPARATION
Objective: PREPARATION is the first in a series of three courses designed to develop the participant's attitudes, knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively provide initial command, and to implement and manage tactical operations during structural firefighting operations.
Description: PREPARATION examines the critical elements of preincident preparation for structural firefighting operations. Key content includes the company commander's role in fireground operations, company readiness, communications process, building construction, and fire behavior, and the process of preincident planning.
Flexible Scheduling: Departments may choose to schedule the complete Preparation Course or may choose any one or more modules. Course times are estimates and will vary depending on size and participation of the audience.
Certificates: Students who complete all modules of this course will receive a National Fire Academy Certificate.
