2001 GREEN RIVER
SPRING FIRE SCHOOL
The Green River Spring Fire School was held April 27-28 in Owensboro on the Daviess County Campus of Owensboro Technical College. Following are some scenes from the school, beginning with the basic class working in the smoke maze trailer.

The Extrication Class is always a large class. Nick Gapinski with Advanced Fire and Rescue was our lead instructor:

The propane burns always catch a lot of attention:
Kentucky's new mobile Flashover Recognition and Survival unit made its first appearance in the Green River Region at our Spring Fire School:


The Farm Rescue class always is full and provides a lot of hands on work
The burn trailer continues to be a important part of our training program
The School Bus Rescue Class was a new addition to the Spring Fire School
Midwest Consulting provided the Confined Space Rescue Course
Lunch on Saturday was provided by the Green River Officers, with a lot of help from Mr. Henderson, father of Second Vice President Harvey Henderson
The Firefighter Survival and Rescue Class was full. This was the first time for the Rescue portion of this class to be offered in Area 3.
